A town in far southeastern Nigeria, on the coast about 40 miles (65 km.) east-southeast of Port Harcourt. It was established in recent times by a warrior from Bonny, who named it after a great King of that state. The state of Opobo became a highly successful purveyor of palm oil - so successful that it greatly diminished the size and influence of Bonny.
