An ephemeral Khanate located in northwestern Iran about 70 miles (110 km.) east of Sarab, 35 miles (55 km.) west of the southwest corner of the Caspian Sea, and about 20 miles (33 km.) southwest of the modern frontier with Azerbaijan. It emerged (like many others) for a brief interval following the chaos ensuing after the death of Nadir Shah in 1747.
